LETTERS OF STEEL

Since 1890, dressed in white outfit and traditional Gandhi Cap, an army of 5,000 Dabbawalas are fulfilling the hunger of almost 200,000 Mumbaikar with home-cooked food that is lug between home and office daily. Home made food is always special. Every 'dabba' / tiffin has a story to tell - whether a wife packing for her husband, a mother for her daughter or a roommate for his friend. If one notices carefully, an emotion is always conveyed in the way the food is cooked. Taking inspiration from this iconic storytelling device, I created letters of the Alphabet for Mumbai - the city of stories.
